Helping us to Make Improvements
The UHB is always looking to improve services. In order to do this we need to hear from you. We have placed a number of suggestion boxes throughout the UHB where you can complete and place suggestion forms. You do not have to give your name and address details if you do not wish to do so.
So that you can assist us, we positively encourage suggestions, whether good or bad. A compliment does a lot for the morale of staff and it helps to maintain high standards.
If you are unhappy with the treatment or care you are receiving, we advise you to make a complaint as soon as possible, preferably to senior staff on duty at the time of the incident or the appropriate ward, hospital or community manager. Other than in exceptional circumstances, a complaint should be made within six months of the problem arising. If there is a good reason why the complaint could not be made sooner, it may still be possible to investigate your concerns, as long as no more than a year has passed.
It is very important to the UHB to effectively manage complaints received. By understanding why complaints arise and the type of complaint received we can then improve the quality of care and treatment provided to all those who use our services.
