Welcome to Speech and Language Therapy (adults)
Welcome to the Speech and Language Therapy Service for adults in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. We offer a wide range of inpatient, outpatient and community services to adults with communication and swallowing difficulties throughout Cardiff and the Vale.
Who do we work with?
Speech and Language Therapists work with adults with communication problems and/or eating and swallowing problems associated with:
- stroke
- head injury
- Parkinson's disease
- Motor Neurone Disease
- dementia
- cancer of the head, neck and throat (including laryngectomy)
- voice problems
- physical disabilities
- stammering (dysfluency)
- mental health conditions
- other neurological conditions
- other degenerative conditions
We often work in teams with a range of health professionals and work closely with families, carers and others involved with the patient.
There are some therapists in the department who are able to provide therapy through the medium of Welsh.
