Rosemarie Whittle

 
Rosemarie Whittle is a State Registered Dietitian, having experience in both acute and community hospitals.  She continued to practise and provide a managerial function throughout a series of NHS reorganisations, before being appointed to Head of Dietetic Services for Bro Morgannwg NHS Trust in 1999. 
 
She has worked closely with Local Health Boards and Primary Care providers on service development, has played a key role in supporting the local public health agenda, and has worked with other agencies on meeting the needs of children in the community, supporting the Children and Young People’s Partnership and joint planning agendas.
 
Rosemarie has participated in a national management development programme and developed an interest and understanding of partnership work and planning for children, subsequently taking a lead in this area for all therapies in Bro Morgannwg.
 
Her role as Head of Paediatric Therapies in 2001 has included representing Therapies as part of the Welsh Assembly working group that developed the Children, Young People and Maternity services National Service Framework.  This led to a secondment to the Welsh Assembly to manage the national consultation process and consequent changes to the document. She continues to retain responsibility for the UHB for the annual evaluation of the National Service Framework.
 
Rosemarie leads the integrated services agenda for child health, supporting strategic development, service modernisation and redesign. This has included working with the Local Authority in planning the new Ty Gwyn School and Ty Storrie Respite unit, chairing the Cardiff Disability Strategy group for Children and Young People, the Vale Flying Start Management Board, and the Cardiff Health and Social Care core group. She is currently working with the Education Department on reviewing special educational provision in Cardiff and developing the Families First project.
