Rev Bob Evans, Chaplaincy Manager and Baptist MinisterRev Bob Evans

Chaplaincy Manager, Baptist Minister

I have been a Hospital Chaplain for the past 19 years, 16 of them as a full-time Chaplain. I am a Baptist Minister, born and brought up in Cardiff. I was pastor of three churches over 13 years, in Plymouth and Cardiff. Over the years I have been the lead for Mental Health and the recruitment and training of our Chaplaincy Volunteers. As manager of the Chaplaincy service for the UHB I am responsible for implementing the Welsh Governments Standards for Spiritual care in the NHS (2010). I have represented my denomination and Chaplaincy at National level, both as the Moderator of the Free Churches Group for Healthcare Chaplaincy, and for six years on the Multi-faith Group for Healthcare Chaplaincy which advises the Department of Health at Westminster. I am a trustee of BooksPlus, the Christian Bookshop in the concourse at UHW and also a trustee of South Wales Baptist College. Outside work, I enjoy family life, genealogy and history.
