Quality and Safety Committee

The purpose of the Quality and Safety Committee is to provide advice to the Board to ensure the quality and safety of healthcare, including activities traditionally referred to as ‘clinical governance’, for example - clinical audit, education and training, patient involvement / experience, learning from complaints and incidents.

It will also provide assurance to the Board around the UHB’s arrangements for protecting and improving the quality and safety of patient centred healthcare.

The full role of the Committee is detailed in the Terms of Reference.

Changes to Committee Structure

Due to recent changes in the UHB's committee structure, the Health and Safety Committee and Information Governance Committee have become formal sub committees of the Quality and Safety Committee.  The Terms of Reference have been extended accordingly and will be made available following approval at the September Board Meeting.
