OUTPATIENTS OPEN AS NHS PULLS OUT STOPS TO MAINTAIN PATIENT CARE
Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (UHB) is advising patients that its outpatients service remains open despite the bad weather.
Patients who have outpatients appointments this week and can get to their appointments safely are being encouraged to attend to ensure they are seen in a timely fashion.
Executive Director of Planning and UHB Deputy Chief Executive, Paul Hollard, said NHS services in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan were coping well and that services were operating as normal.
“We would encourage anyone who is able to get to their appointment safely to attend. This will ensure that we can see people in a timely way and not delay any care they might need.”
NHS services across the Board area are operating well but, with an increase in the number of reported seasonal flu cases, patients displaying flu-like symptoms are being asked to stay home and self-care unless they are suffering from severe respiratory problems or are in an at-risk group.
People with flu-like symptoms should avoid coming to the Emergency Unit at UHW unless they are suffering from shortness of breath.
