Work is underway to develop adverse weather sections for staff and the public on the UHB’s website. The online resources will contain the latest weather news, advice and other useful information in one place and act as a handy tool when bad weather hits.To help make the pages more user friendly, the public are being encouraged to submit their own pictures of snow covered Health Board sites.
Estelle Hitchon, Assistant Director of Strategic Communications, said: “When the snow falls, it puts significant pressure on local health services, so hopefully the development of these online pages will provide staff, patients and the public with all the information they need about UHB services and how to access them when bad weather hits.
“If members of the public have any seasonal photos of our facilities that they think would be suitable for us to use as part of the site, then it would be great if they could send them in to us, along with any ideas on the information they would like to see on these new online sections. By doing this, we hope that the new section of the site will be the first port of call for information on local health services in the event of adverse weather.”
