Morgannwg Ward is a 14 bed mixed ward that provides acute assessment and treatment for patients with late onset severe mental illness.
The assessment process on Morgannwg Ward will take place over a number of weeks depending on individual need. The assessment takes place with the Primary Nurse and the Multi Disciplinary Team to ascertain a patient's physical, psychological, social and emotional functioning. The Multi Disciplinary Team on Morgannwg includes:

- Ward Doctors
- Nurses
- Psychologists
- Occupational Therapist
- Physiotherapist
- Social Workers
- Community Nurses
- Speech and Language Therapists
- Dieticians
- Housekeeping staff
The purpose of the assessment is to enable patients to receive an individualised comprehensive plan of care and treatment whilst in hospital, and also to be discharged into an environment appropriate to their needs and those of their carers.
Morgannwg Ward has a number of group activities/interventions available that may be included in the care plan, such as:
- Relaxation Group
- Anxiety Management
- Counselling

16:00 - 20:00 – Monday to Friday
14:00 - 20:00 – Saturday and Sunday
