| Morgan has been a community activist and campaigner for over 30 years. Through her work within the women’s movement and the lesbian and gay liberation movement she developed skills, knowledge and expertise which shaped her approach to her varied community work. Over the last 35 years, Morgan has supported a wide range of social justice issues, equality movements and campaigns. She is proud of having worked with other very committed people on issues that at the time were often very unpopular to bring about changes in society's attitude and achieve positive improvements. Morgan's involvement with Women’s Aid is a long one, and she was fortunate in being a founder member of a group that developed and delivered both a women’s centre and full refuge services. Her commitment to social justice, fairness and equality has driven her work and activism choices, and she believes that we can change the world through our personal action. Morgan is currently the Chief Executive of Cardiff Women’s Aid, giving her the opportunity to work on issues of violence and abuse within our society, and to ensure that services meet the needs of the women and children who are affected. Her work as an Independent Member on the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board has strengthened her commitment to support colleagues who face the challenges that our health services and health communities face, including health inequality. She is also honoured to be the Children and Young People's Champion on the Board. |
