Margaret McLaughlin

 
Margaret was the Director of Voluntary Action Cardiff, the County Voluntary Council for the city, from 2006 until September 2009. In this role, she worked with a range of partners to ensure the third sector worked alongside the public sector to plan and deliver more citizen-centred services, maintaining a strong interest in citizen engagement and patient and public involvement.
 
Prior to working for Voluntary Action Cardiff, Margaret was employed for 10 years by Peter Bedford Housing Association in London. Other appointments have included Information Officer with the Scottish Association for Mental Health and Development Officer with Tenant Participation Advice Service Cymru.
 
Margaret is an honours graduate in Spanish from the University of Edinburgh and has post-graduate qualifications in community and adult education and counselling from the University of Edinburgh and University of Wales in Newport respectively.
 
Margaret now works for Voluntary Action Merthyr Tydfil and Interlink as Commissioning Policy Development Officer. She is a trustee of Safer Wales and Cardiff and Vale Coalition of Disabled People.
