There is currently a scam primarily targeting people from overseas looking for jobs in St David’s Hospital, Cardiff . The scam includes a fake website and job offers for fictitious posts. As part of the scam, individuals are requested to send detailed personal information and copies of passports. The Health Board has also been made aware that some individuals have been asked to forward money to a firm of solicitors.
Whilst there is no mention of the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board on the fake website or job offer, we need to make it clear that the posts on offer do not exist. Cardiff and Vale University Health Board advertises jobs on the NHS jobs website, not on individual hospital websites. The Health Board does not target individuals unprompted to offer them employment, without a full interview process.
The Health Board has made the NHS Counter Fraud Service (Wales ) aware of this issue and they are now liaising with South Wales Police.
