News Update
As part of a South West Wales Fertility Services review undertaken by the commissioners for fertility services, the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, the management of the IVF Wales Unit based at the University Hospital of Wales will be transferred to the management of Abertawe Bro Morgannwg Local Health Board. There will be no immediate service changes to the IVF Wales Unit and the operational running of the service will remain unchanged.
Patients currently attending for and being seen with a view to receiving assisted reproduction treatment will not be affected whilst this change is undertaken and the staff at the Unit will continue to work routinely.
Further information regarding the service changes will follow as the new service progresses.
Based at the University Hospital of Wales, Heath Park, Cardiff, IVF Wales offers a full range of assisted reproduction treatments and the highest standard of care.
Our highly qualified team of consultants, embryologists, nurses, laboratory and administration staff offer a friendly and supportive environment to couples seeking infertility advice and treatment to help them reach their goal of becoming a family.
We realise that assisted reproduction can be a highly emotional experience, and we offer an individually tailored plan for each couple to help them remain actively involved and ensure they have complete confidence in decisions affecting their treatment.
IVF Wales has strong links with the research team at Cardiff University who strive to find ways of increasing the chances of pregnancy in infertile couples. This allows us to continually develop the latest techniques in assisted reproduction, and ensure that our patients are offered the most appropriate treatment.
