4 July 2011: Accessing the Services at IVF Wales
In order to ensure equitable access for patients attending the service for fertility investigations and treatment, and semen analysis (Cardiff and Vale residents only), a new referral system has been implemented. Referrals for patients wishing to be seen at IVF Wales are now processed through a
new standardised referral form, ensuring all relevant and appropriate patient details are included.
The new referral form, which includes requests for diagnostic semen analysis (Cardiff and Vale patients only), and patient referrals for consideration of fertility investigations and treatment, has been sent to all GP surgeries.
This new method of referral for semen analysis and general referrals will be accepted on the new standardised form only. If the forms are incomplete or do not contain the required information these will be returned to the referrer for completion and re-referral to the Centre. All referrals will be dealt with through a standardised referral process in order that all appointments are allocated by date of accepted referral to the Centre.
