The Emergency Gynaecology Unit (EGU) ensures reapid acess to medical tratement and investigations 24 hours a day for women who are experiencing any gynaecology emergency and acute early pregnancy problems.
It is a six bed unit which is staffed by two qualified nurses on each shift. There is a Gynaecology Nurse Practitioner (GNP) on duty from 7.30 am to 9 pm Monday to Friday and a 24 hour on call medical cover.
