Welcome to the department of Gastroenterology based at the University Hospital of Wales and University Hospital. There are Inpatient services, Outpatient services and Endoscopy units at both sites. The Consultant staff are also on call for Acute General Medicine and Emergency Endoscopy.

What We Offer

For Patients  

• Outpatient Clinics - for general gastroenterology including specialist clinics for inflammatory bowel disease, coeliac disease and hepatology
• Advice and support for patients with gastrointestinal disorders
• Opportunity to participate in research projects with gastrointestinal and liver diseases
• Inpatient and Outpatient Endoscopy services including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Assessment and therapy of nutritional problems as part of the Nutrition support team
