Fiona Jenkins

 
Fiona trained as a physiotherapist in Salford, qualifying in 1980.  She undertook clinical and junior managerial posts within West Wales, before moving to South Devon in 1999 to become Head of Physiotherapy Services. She has worked in primary and secondary care settings, taking on a lead role for service improvement and re-design. In 2006 she became Cinical Director for Therapy Services and Map of Medicine Lead, moving to Cardiff and Vale UHB in 2010 as Executive Director for Therapies and Health Sciences.
 
Fiona was awarded a Fellowship of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) for her services to management in 2006, and is also a former Council Member and Vice President of the CSP. Fiona has both led, and been involved with, a large number of service improvement projects, several of which have been award-winning. She has extensive experience of care pathway development and service re-design across the health economy.
 
Fiona completed the INSEAD NHS / Leadership Centre Clinical Strategists’ Programme at the Business School in Fontainebleau Paris, holds an MA (Distinction) in Management (Exeter University), and is currently undertaking research for a PhD in NHS Management related to Allied Health Professions (AHP) services. She has been a member of Department of Health working groups for AHP Information Management and AHP Referral to Treatment projects.
 
She lectures both nationally and internationally, leads master-classes and workshops, and gives presentations on management and leadership topics and service re-design. She has undertaken AHP service management reviews, research and surveys, and is also co-editor of a series of management books: The Allied Health Professions Essential Guides.
