Welcome to Community Dental Services
The aim of the Community Dental Service (CDS) is to provide primary care dental services to children and patients with special requirements including the elderly and disabled. Also, the CDS acts as a safety net service for patients who are unable to access NHS dental treatment. In addition, the CDS provides a wide range of preventative care through the national Designed to Smile programme, which targets children under the age of 11 in areas of high need.
The CDS operates across a very wide area over 5 localities including Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan, Merthyr, Rhondda Cynon Taf and Bridgend.
