Catholic Chaplain
I joined the Chaplaincy team as Catholic chaplain on 1 April 1999. I am a Brother in a Roman Catholic order, the
Institute of
Charity. I am attached to a small community which runs the parish of
St Joseph’s in
Cardiff. I am responsible for the provision of spiritual and religious needs to Catholic patients in UHW, and, where needed, to their families and staff. I also have generic chaplaincy responsibility for four wards in the University Hospital of Wales (UHW). I also co-ordinate bedside Holy Communions to Catholics in West Wing at Cardiff Royal Infirmary. In UHW I am assisted by a team of eight Eucharistic Ministers who, each Sunday, bring Holy Communion to Catholic patients. These ministers make approximately 900 bedside visits a year. My hobby is family history and the family website is
