Beware Bogus Job Offers

Fraudulent job offers from St David's General Hospital

It has come to our attention that an organisation calling itself St David’s General Hospital at St David’s Hospital, Cowbridge Road East, Cardiff, South Glamorgan, CF11 9XB appears to be fraudulently offering health related jobs to overseas workers, using UK job websites such as Monster.

The organisation claims to represent St David’s Hospital in Cardiff, one of the UHB’s hospitals, and offers jobs which simply do not exist, asking for details of the applicant’s passports and, in some instances, money.

Cardiff and Vale UHB’s Local Counter Fraud Specialists are working with other external agencies, including South Wales Police, to try and stamp out fraudulent activity of this kind.

The UHB would stress that there is no risk to the care we provide to our patients here because of this activity. Cardiff and Vale University Health Board advertises posts only through the NHS Jobs website, which represents the first step in the rigorous recruitment process that all potential employees to the NHS have to undergo.

This scam seems to be aimed at applicants from overseas.  However, this Health Board has no association whatsoever with the individuals operating this organisation, and so we would urge anyone with information relating to the fraudulent job offers to contact South Wales Police on 00 44 2920 222111 (from outside the UK) or 02920 222111 and report the matter.
