The department is run by Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. We offer a satellite clinic in Barry at the Broad Street clinic as well as home visits for housebound individuals. A variety of specialist clinics take place each week. We also offer a hearing aid repair service by appointment only, Monday to Friday.
The Cardiff Audiology Team has well established Cochlear Implant and Bone anchored Hearing aid programmes, state of the art equipment and access to a wide range of digital hearing aids.
All patients are encouraged to have a reassessment of their hearing three years after the initial fitting of their hearing aid. If they feel that their hearing is worse at any time within this time period, they may also phone the department to make an appointment. If the patient feels that they would like a second hearing aid or would like to see a hearing therapist, please phone the department for an appointment (details below).
At each appointment, every patient will be asked for consent to have any procedures performed and also consent to have their representative/ relative/friend/significant other present during the appointment.
For more information on what to expect, please download this document about the patient journey and reassessment.
