Option Grids

Tools have been developed to support the Ask 3 Questions campaignThe MAGIC team have worked with medical staff to develop tools to help patients engage in their care.

Part of this work has included the development of option grids which can be used during discussions on treatment options for certain diagnosis.

Here are links to the currently available option grids:

Amniocentesis - to help a patient and clinician to decide whether or not to have the test.

Breast cancer surgery - to help a patient and clinician decide whether to have a mastectomy or to have a 'lumpectomy with radiotherapy'.
 

Early cancer of the tonsil - to help a patient and clinician choose between two treatment options for early cancer of the tonsil. 

Early cancer of the vocal cords - to help choose between two treatment options for early cancer of the vocal cords.

High cholesterol - to help decide the best course of action to lower cholesterol. 

PSA test - to help a patient and clinician decide whether or not to have the prostate specific antigen test.

Tonsillectomy - to help a patient and clinician decide whether or not a child (under 16) should have a tonsillectomy.
