Promoting Health

Welcome to the Public Health Team

The Health Board’s public health division is an integrated team of staff from the UHB, local authorities and Public Health Wales.

They work together to improve health and well-being and the quality of healthcare services, and also to protect the health of our local communities. The team is led by Sharon Hopkins, Director of Public Health.

You can contact the team at either the Cardiff or Vale of Glamorgan Locality Offices.

Welcome to a healthy future.

Why not make 2011 the year when you commit to improving your health and wellbeing, and help protect your future from ill health?

Take a look at the Health Challenge Wales, Cardiff Healthy City Healthy Capital, Health Challenge Vale and Change 4 Life websites (the sites will open in new windows), and see how you can make some positive changes to your daily routine: find out more about healthy eating, the benefits of physical activity, moderating your alcohol consumption, stopping smoking, and much more.

There’s a wealth of information to help you help yourself, so make 2011 the year you’re kind to yourself and get fit for the future.
